"What auto-responder service should I use?"

Here's a quick overview of what to look for and what to avoid.

In my personal opinion, there are only two services worth mentioning:

Aweber and 1shoppingcart

Every major internet marketer I know uses one of these two services.

Why? Because they get the best delivery rates. They have full time staffs that do nothing but work on building relationships with ISP's to help your email get delivered.

Now there are some important differences between the two services that you need to know about.

I decided to go with 1ShoppingCart.com for one MAJOR reason...

I needed to import my personally generated Opt-in list to one of these services.

If I imported it into Aweber, they would have required me to send out a "double opt-in" email.

Which means that everyone on my list would be sent an email telling them that they must "click this link" in order to stay on my list.

That would have meant DEATH to my list size.

Most people will lose up to 80% of their contacts because of this "double opt-in" requirement for an imported list.

DON'T DO IT.

On the other hand, 1shoppingcart simply had me fax them the proper documentation proving that my list was legally generated, and it was done...

My entire data base was successfully transferred without a problem.

That's huge, and it was why I chose 1shoppingcart.

But what if you're starting a new list from scratch?

In that case, Aweber would be a great service, and they have one major advantage over 1ShoppingCart: When you send an email broadcast to your list in Aweber, it's mailed instantly.

Broadcasts in 1ShoppingCart usually aren't processed for 30 minutes, up to HOURS.

Finally, consider your future plans as you make your decision. Will you be selling anything goods or services in the future? If so, then you definitely want to choose 1ShoppingCart because they already offer the additional services you will need like order processing and affiliate software.

If all of this is still "greek" to you, then you need to step up and get with the program asap.

If you don't have an autoresponder account set up that you're building a list in, then you don't have a business. Period.
